Your Second Step
Entering Canaan: The Day of Prayer  & Healing

Be assured of total confidentiality.

The decision to attend a Day of Prayer & Healing begins your journey and requires a leap of faith and great courage.  Your response to this invitation is a grace! The love, forgiveness and mercy of Jesus is real and personal.  This day will offer you hope to begin your journey towards wholeness.  You are not alone! It allows you to pick up the pieces of your life and receive the tools you need to respond to all the troubling areas  affected by, and connected to, abortion.

 WHAT THIS DAY LOOKS LIKE:

Arrival: You will be warmly greeted by one of our team facilitators who will assist you in getting settled, give you a program for the day, and invite you into the Chapel.

Welcome by the Ministry Leader: who will assure you that this is a safe place to express your feelings if you so choose. This is followed by a gentle invitation to share your story at any point during the day.  We will emphasize confidentiality to help build trust and allow the freedom for all to speak openly.

Introduction by the Priest who will offer encouragement and the Church's welcome for all, regardless of your faith.

The  Witness of Healing  A personal testimony, given by a facilitator who has suffered from abortion, who has made amazing strides in her healing journey and most significantly, will share  how the fullness of healing has come through  a personal experience of the mercy of Jesus Christ.

Your Third Step

The Gatherings

Each month, you have an invitation to come together at the Providence Pregnancy Center's Gathering Room. Located at 1660 North Main Ave. in Scranton, we will pray and discuss specific issues related to Post Abortion Syndrome (PAS). A facilitator, a professional counselor and you as a participant, help each other in recognizing and moving though phases of healing.  Topics are chosen in advance according to the participation and/or interest level of those intending to participate.  Examples include: Anger/Forgiveness, Shame vs. Humility, Mourning, Gratitude/New Life.

Everyone needs a support group!  Light refreshments will be served.

Gatherings occur on the first Tuesday evening of every month at 6 pm.

Your Final Step

Hope and Healing Weekend Retreat

Each individual heals in her own time and in God's time, with room given for individual response to grace and assistance.

Held from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, once a year,  this offers an opportunity for sustained healing to those who have begun the process of post-abortive healing. It is held in a location where no other event is taking place, assuring total safety &  confidentiality.

Special Gatherings

Let's build friendship, good conversation and fellowship! A day long social gathering is conducted during the summer, usually in June or July.  After many months on the spiritual journey through Retreats and Gatherings, you  are given the opportunity to relax together in an uplifting  environment held at Lackawanna State Park under a reserved pavilion.
